This retreat is a cultural and exploratory experience. Not only will you drink Ayahuasca and go deeply inward but you will also get a chance to experience many spiritual practices and cultural activities. The expression of yourself that will come forward will be raw, vulnerable, and trusting as you let go of your worries and fall in love with yourself again.
Our Ayahuasca ceremonies are in the traditional style of the indigenous Ashaninka tribe of Peru, where Aya Shakti trains. The elders see participating in the ceremony as a spiritual practice as much as it is viewed as healing or treatment of physical ailments. The plants will support you and guide you toward the resolution of your greatest challenges.
This retreat consists of:
- 5 ceremonies with Peruvian Ayahuasca made from only three ingredients:
- Water from the boiling river at Mayantuyacu
- Ayahuasca vine from the Peruvian Amazon
- Chacruna leaf from our Peruvian team
- Two sweat lodges in the Mexican tradition of Temescal
- Ecstatic dance workshop with native Ubuntu practitioners
- Flower bath in the jungle with local flora
- Yoga daily
- Ayurvedic Massages
- Beach walks, ocean swims, and celebration
- Private consultations with indigenous curanderas
- Private integration sessions with peer facilitators
- Integration and community activities throughout the retreat
An Ayahuasca retreat in South America, is a serious commitment and could be seen as a type of wellbeing or spiritual pilgrimage. You will be tested to get here but once in our presence, you will be able to deeply relax and rest in the sun.
Our approach to valuing Ayahuasca
The value of having a relationship with an Ayahuasca practice is immeasurable, like that of a relationship with your greatest teacher or mentor. Just like you can not quantify feelings like love, joy, or sadness, nor can we define the importance of health and family. Some things just are. Therefore, we do not charge to sit in an ayahuasca ceremony or sell the medicine. We see limitations in a consumer mindset with outcome-driven expectations. This often becomes an obstacle to building meaningful relationships with the plants and oneself. We aspire to transcend these restrictions of consumerism that keep us enslaved in expectation.
Our main goal is to provide a deep, safe, and transforming experience with Ayahuasca, the other plant teachers, and nature itself. The price of our retreats covers:
- Time and effort of our organizers to create a supportive and safe environment with the purpose of long-term benefits for the guests.
- Access to traditions and guides who have been practicing decades and are open to sharing their wisdom.
- Educational and sustainability projects for greater access to all who are in need of this precious resource.
Thanks to your trust, we can support the maintenance of a living tradition of working with plant medicine. The medicine itself remains free for all. We treat it as an alive, sentient, and beautiful being. Gathering and growing, preparing, and cooking is as important as the ceremony itself. We are trying to give back to nature and re-plant these special species in the forest, some of which you will get to witness. Our work is to serve it and to serve you.
Our focus and best effects so far are working with issues such as navigating life transitions or major life events, chronic depression, lack of clarity and purpose in life, compulsive habits and addictions, ADHD behavior and diagnosis, anxiety and excessive control, and emotional blockages. Ayahuasca and other plants prove effective for a range of physical ailments because body distress is often tied to the mind’s distress. It is best to contact us before to discuss the realistic potential options for your healing because these medicines are also not to be seen as ‘miracle fixes’, work and dedication are always required.
Use of Ayahuasca during the retreat
For those of us coming from outside, Ayahuasca can be seen as an unpleasant or even scary ordeal which we must face. It is during these intimate encounters with our inner self that the curanderos believe the teachings come and the Ayahuasca heals. You will be required to face your fears, realize your accountability for your life, and ultimately learn to let go and move on, from parts of yourself as well as parts of your external world.
By drinking Ayahuasca and create space within yourself, you will be able to connect more deeply with those you are retreating with. Learn how to be more connected to those whom you love. And most importantly, learn to live free as you once did, no longer worried about what others think of you or what you think of yourself.
By also participating in fun and exciting activities such as Ecstatic dance, sweat lodge, and spiritual workshops - you have an opportunity to reengage with life in a new way and begin to see clearly again.
